Welcome! My name is Phil Crooks, and I'm the Trade Union Liaison Committee chair.
The Trade Union Liaison Committee is made up of activists and members of all of Labour's affiliated trade unions in our constituency. It is the voice of the trade union movement within our local party.
The unions, and the party, are built in the principle that "united we stand, divided we fall." United, we have achieved so much together in the last century - from the 8-hour working day to health and safety protections, from protection from arbitary dismissal to the minimum wage.
But there is still so much to do, and so much under threat from the Conservative government that will negotiate the terms of Brexit. It is up to us to speak up for the people who live and work in South West Bedfordshire, and to defend their rights in the workplace as we always have done.
So I urge you to join me, so that together we can bring our strength and our determination to the work ahead of us.
