Save Valley Farm

Leighton-Linslade Branch Labour Party has endorsed the proposal that Valley Farm, just outside the local authority boundary to the west of town, be designated as Green Belt in order to protect it from repeated planning applications.

Branch Secretary Keith Minor has written to Aylesbury Vale District Council in support of this idea, first proposed in AVDC's draft Local Plan.

In a letter to the Leighton Buzzard Observer, he commented: "The local Labour Party have consistently opposed building houses there. We desperately need new houses to be built, but Valley Farm is the wrong location. Every time a planning application has been refused, the developer has come back with a new proposal. Therefore, we have agreed to support the designation of the area as Green Belt."

Paul Newman Homes are slated to commence construction of 300 homes at the site this winter.
